Shiny Slides

If you make your slides super shiny, people will go “ooh” and spend their time looking at the fun graphic. I’ve seen animations, people put up nicely animated graphs of, say, cloud attacks coming in, and I guarantee that while people are watching the whizzy graph, for that period they’re not listening to the speaker anymore. It’s whizzy-graph time.

So be wary of this one. Again, I’m not saying never put anything shiny in — just not too much shiny stuff.
